This blend is formulated for large pot, container and bed culture where coarse texture is preferred. Particularly suited for woody plants, shrubs, herbs, perennials, and the mulching of vegetables. Usually no additional fertility required until the roots fill the soil mix. When roots have filled container, top dress with Compost Plus and water in. Blended from: manure compost, bark, crushed, washed screened granite, vermiculite, bone char, mined gypsum, sphagnum peat moss, kelp, blood meal.

Best Practices

Prep for use: None necessary. Don’t let it dry out in a pot as it will shrink. Keep moist in beds, planters, and containers for the same reason.

Handling: Do not let the product over dry or get waterlogged. Store under cover, out of direct sunlight. Protect from weed seeds and animals.

Supplemental Fertility: None necessary until the roots fill the pot and/or eight weeks from planting. Supplement with Compost Plus. For large containers and planters, supplement with insoluble slow release fertility at planting time to prevent running low later in the season.

Storage and Shelf Life: Store in a cool, neither dry nor wet place to maintain moisture content. Product should be used within 12 months from date of purchase; older product may still be good if it has not over dried or gotten wet.
